The Delaware Valley School District provides all staff with professional development based on the training needs of the staff. The District identifies the Special Education staff needs through surveys sent by the department; evaluations from professional development days; recommendations from administrators; and input from representatives of various district groups. Opportunities for professional development are provided as follows:
- In-service days
- Training before, during, and after the school day
- Technical assistance provided by the Special Education Department, School Psychologists, School Social Workers, Educational Consultant, and the Transition Coordinator.
- Release time to attend training offered by the Colonial Intermediate Unit 20, Pennsylvania Training and Technical Assistance Network (PaTTAN), the Pennsylvania Department of Education, or related outside conferences.
