• Tutoring

Each subject is offered once a week by DVSD faculty. Tutoring is meant for any student who is having difficulty with their subject matter. It can be attended weekly as reinforcement to what is taught in the classroom. It can also be used on as "as needed" basis to strengthen understanding of difficult concepts from the classroom.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What time does it run?

    A: From 2:45 p.m. to 4:20 p.m.

    Q: What subjects are offered?

A: Math, English/language Arts, Social Studies and Science. World Language students arrange tutoring with the individual teacher.

Q: How can my student participate?

A: The student has to sign up for individual sessions in order to stay on a given week.  The student must come to the school counseling office, usually during lunch, between classes, before or after school to sign up for the session. It is recommended that the student sign up at least a day before the session runs. The student signing up for the session in the office is signing a written commitment to stay after school on the given day.

Q: How should my child prepare?

A: To make the tutoring process more effective students need to pick up a form to give to their classroom teacher(available as a document on the bottom of this page) when they sign up for a session. The form, once filled out by the classroom teacher, is brought to the tutoring teacher, by the student, the day of the tutoring session.
