Daniel Stieh

Daniel J. Stieh was a member of the Delaware Valley High School Class of 2001.  His exceptional academic career was combined with a distinguished list of extra-curricular activities.  His involvement included membership in the prestigious National Honor Society, Orchestra, and the Scholastic Bowl team.  He was also a main participant over a seven year period on the Odyssey of the Mind structure teams including a win in the State Championship.

Daniel’s collegiate success began at Lehigh University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in 2005.  While at Lehigh he worked as an intern and laboratory technician specializing in Microbiocide formulation and pre-clinical evaluation.  He then went on to study at St. Georges University in London and earned a PhD in Virology in 2011.  His research included the characterization of certain HIV proteins and development of techniques to purify HIV.  Daniel returned to the United States to become a Postdoctoral Fellow at Northwestern University from 2011 to 2016 focusing on HIV vaccine design.  During this time, his research was published in the Journal of Virology.

Daniel and his family currently live in the Netherlands where his current occupation is Biomedical Reseacher.  He acts as the HIV Biomarker Lead for the Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson.
