Brad McNally

Brad M. McNally was a 1997 graduate of Delaware Valley High School.  He was a member of the prestigious National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta.  Brad played on DV's golf team when they won District 12 championship in 1995 and was co-captain the following year.  Brad also was on the Odyssey of the Mind team which won state championships in 1996 and 1997.  He was on the school's Scholastic Bowl's team, winning Regional championships in 1996-97.  In his junior and senior years Brad was the student representative to the School Board.

Brad attended the United States Coast Guard Academy, New London, CT, earning a Bachelor of Science degree, with high honors, in mechanical engineering. He is a 2006 graduate of the U.S. Navy Flight School at Naval Air Station, Whiting Field, Milton, FL.  In 2011, Brad received a master of engineering degree from Purdue University School of Aeronautics.  He also earned a master of Aeronautical Science, with honors, from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in the same year.  He is designated as a naval aviator, having completed fixed and rotary wing training, 2004-06.

Over the years, Brad has distinguished himself with a number of duties and responsibilities.  From 2001-2003, he was Damage Control Assistant, US Coast Guard Cutter Spencer, homeported in Boston, training the ship's crew in all facets of damage control operations. Additionally, he completed deployment with the Navy's Sixth Fleet, supporting Operation Iraqi freedom, and protected the ports of New York and Boston following the 9/11 attack

Commander McNally has won the 2001 Coast Guard Academy Mechanical Engineering Award, the 2015 Coast Guard Aeronautical Engineer of the Year, 2015 Runner Up for Coast Guard Engineer of the Year, 2016 Naval Helicopter Association Region 2 Maintenance Officer of the Year. Adding to those awards are the Meritorious Service Medal, the Coast Guard Commendation Medal and three Coast Guard Achievement Medals.the state of North Carolina; Federal Aviation Administration Airplane, Helicopter, and Airline Transport Pilot licenses with commercial and instrument ratings; Certified Flight Instructor; Department of Homeland Security, Certified Acquisition Professional, Program Management Level Two/Logistics Manager Level Two.

He served as Assistant Small Boat Manager, 2003-04, providing overarching fleet-wide engineering, logistics, and sustainment support for 1,500 Coast Guard boats operating around the country and in foreign waters.

With over 2,000 hours of flight time conducting search and rescue, homeland security and national defense operations, Commander Bradley was for three years contributing editor for Rotorcraft Professional Magazine, during which time he penned a 15-part series, chronicling the history of helicopter development in America.

From June of 2011 to June of 2015, Chief Engineer McNally was responsible for all inclusive technical support to 18 operational units, depot repair center operating 99 MH-65 helicopters.  He was the Airworthiness authority for the Coast Guard's largest fleet of aircraft, and managed a $9 million budget, supervising 6 contracts valued at $24 million.

During his career, Brad has achieved the following:  Licensed professional engineer in the state of North Carolina; Federal Aviation Administration Airplane, Helicopter, and Airline Transport Pilot licenses with commercial and instrument ratings; Certified Flight Instructor; Department of Homeland Security, Certified Acquisition Professional, Program Management Level Two/Logistics Manager Level Two.

Serving as the Aeronautical Engineering Officer, U.S. Coast Guard Station Detroit, he supervised a 60-member workforce and was responsible for a 6.1 million parts inventory.

Brad currently resides in Annandale, VA with his wife Monica and son Brett and works out of the U.S. Coast Guard Office in Washington, D.C.
