William F. Carroll was a member of the Delaware Valley High School Class of 1964.  Extremely active in school, Bill embraced the multitude of opportunities available to him.  He was a four year varsity soccer player, a four year basketball player, and a two year participant in baseball and track.  During the course of his career, Bill earned a total of nine varsity letters.  Bill also had success within the classroom.  His excellent academic record resulted in him being inducted into the prestigious National Honor Society.  He was president of his class in his sophomore year, winner of the Essay Award in his junior year, member of the Big Brother Program, and a P.E. Leader in his junior year and senior years.  He also maintained perfect attendance for his first three years of high school.

Following his graduation from high school, Bill continued his education at East Stroudsburg State College where he earned two degrees.  The first was a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Education, followed by a Master of Education in Health and Physical Education.  Later he attended the University of Scranton where he earned a Master of Science in Elementary School Administration.  Bill began a rewarding thirty six year teaching career as a physical education teacher in 1969 at the Sussex-Wantage Regional School District where he also coached basketball and track.  Ever involved in the community, Bill also coached New Jersey minor league baseball in Beemerville and Colesville.  Back in his hometown, Bill served in multiple capacities including Matamoras Playground Supervisor, Matamoras Recreation Advisory Board, scorekeeper for the Port Jervis varsity baseball team, and the Matamoras Planning Board.  Additionally he is a long time member of the Knights of Columbus and the Port Jervis Elks.
