Anthony Cavallaro
Tony Cavallaro was a member of the Delaware Valley High School class of 1977. He was a member of the DVHS District 12 Championship soccer team of 1975 and served as co-captain, was a two-time all league player and was selected as most valuable defense player in 1976. He graduated from East Stroudsburg University in 1981 and earned a Master’s degree with Principal Certification in 1996. Mr. Cavallaro began is teaching career in DVHS where he served as assistant coach to Ron Robacker for the boy’s team and helped start the girl’s program with Sue Robacker. After 12 years at DVHS he moved to Wallenpaupack High School as head boys' soccer coach, a position that he currently holds. His teams qualified for the District II playoffs three times and won the title in 1999.
That year the team made it to the Eastern Final Four and Tony was named Scranton Time Regional Coach of the Year. As a youth coach he co-founded the Eastern Pike Soccer travel program and indoor program. In 1999-2000 he served as President of the Pennsylvania Soccer Coaches Association where he was established Brine as its first major scholarship sponsor. He also coordinated the PSCA website and reorganized the girl’s All American selection process and the ranking committee. He holds a National Diploma and Advanced National Diploma for soccer from the National Soccer Coaches Association.
