    This course is designed to prepare students for a career in various aspects of business management, accounting, banking & finance, marketing & sales, entrepreneurship, human resource management, and customer service. The goal of this course is to create a well-rounded business student who intends to enter the workforce after graduation or to pursue a bachelor’s degree in business or marketing.  Involvement in the program is a way to gain the knowledge to work in marketing and business-related jobs and learn from experienced professionals and mentors.  Students will also be responsible for the management of the school store.  Students that complete all of the competencies for this course may have the opportunity to be engaged in a capstone placement for some of their senior year.


    Program Certifications:

    Students in the program will have the opportunity to earn the OSHA 10 Certification and a Customer Service Certification from the National Retail Federation.  Upon program completion, student will take the NOCTI (National Occupational Competency Testing Institute) Assessment which includes both a written and practical component.


    Post-Secondary Opportunities:

    All CTE students are eligible for dual enrollment through PA’s SOAR (Students Occupationally and Academically Ready) Program.  Also, students can have concurrent enrollment in college courses through a community college and obtain 12 credits while in high school. 


    Career and Technical Student Organizations  (CTSO):

    Delaware Valley FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) is an extra-curricular club where students may explore business opportunities.  There are over 70 competitive events available for students that include performance, production, individual and team in addition to non-competitive roles.  For more information see www.pafbla.org or www.fbla.org.
